Waiting For Eden by Elliot Ackerman
The Short Review: A fast paced book about three people dealing with a tragic event. Easy to read, but weighted with so much to process.
The Long Review: I finished this book in one sitting. It’s well written. The narrator tells the story like he’s having a conversation with a new close friend about some people he used to be close friends with, and I thought that added an element of intrigue. Because it’s such a small book—less than two hundred pages—there’s no fluff. Ackerman doesn’t waste a word and the way he chose to explore these characters with such insight while still limiting the amount of time he spent with them was impressive. I’ll keep this review short, but I think this is a great book if you’re looking for a quick read that captures your interest but also makes you think about it long after it’s over.
